Family Visa — Dependent Child
Home Office Route

Overview & Eligibility

This route is for dependent children under 18 joining or staying with their parent(s) settled in the UK or applying at the same time as a parent. The rules require that both parents are settled in the UK or that the sponsoring parent has sole responsibility for the child's upbringing, or there are serious and compelling family considerations.

Important: When only one parent is in the UK, establishing 'sole responsibility' requires extensive legal and documentary evidence of decision-making control over education, health and day-to-day welfare.

How We Prepare the Case

  1. 1Parental status and sole responsibility evidentiary review
  2. 2Appendix FM financial maintenance and income calculation
  3. 3Adequate accommodation and living condition assessment
  4. 4NADRA registration, family tree, and legal custody documentation
  5. 5Application lodging, IHS processing, and VFS submission

Key Eligibility Checklist

  • Child is under 18 years of age at the date of application
  • Child is not married, in a civil partnership, or living an independent life
  • Both parents reside in the UK, or sponsoring parent has sole responsibility
  • Sponsoring parent meets the financial requirement
  • Adequate accommodation available without recourse to public funds

A Word of Caution

Protect Yourself — Say No to Illegal Immigration

Every year, applicants lose their savings, and sometimes their lives, to unlicensed agents who promise a guaranteed UK visa or an illegal route to Britain. There is no shortcut into the UK. No consultancy — including ours — can promise a visa outcome.

Official Home Office Compliance Policy
  • Never attempt to enter or remain in the UK through unofficial, undocumented or "donkey" routes — these are dangerous, illegal, and can result in a lifetime UK entry ban.
  • Be wary of any agent who guarantees a visa, offers to bypass the interview or document process, or asks for large sums of undocumented cash "under the table."
  • Never submit fabricated documents, fake job offers, forged bank statements or bogus sponsorships — this can lead to a permanent ban and criminal liability in both Pakistan and the UK.
  • Always verify a consultancy's credentials and deal only in written, receipted agreements — never hand over your original passport or documents without a signed record.
  • Cross-check any requirement, fee or process you are told against the official Home Office source at gov.uk before paying anyone.

We apply every case honestly and professionally — but as our disclaimer makes clear, no consultancy can guarantee a visa outcome; that decision rests solely with the Home Office and the relevant British Diplomatic Mission.
